A gentle primer on caring for your skin

Type, barrier, rhythm and red flags — the gentle primer our therapists wish every client had read first.

Your skin is your largest organ, your first defence and — whether you asked for the job or not — a very honest diary. Dehydration, stress, hormones and weather all write themselves across it. Learning to read those signals is the foundation of everything we do at Velvetbloom.

Know your type, respect its moods

Skin type is a starting point, not a life sentence. Oily zones can still be dehydrated, and sensitive skin can still crave exfoliation. Watch how your face feels at noon and at midnight for a week; that rhythm tells you more than any quiz.

The barrier comes first

Before actives, before devices, before ten-step routines: a calm, intact barrier. Gentle cleansing, daily moisture and real sun protection solve a surprising share of the concerns clients bring through our door.

When to call a professional

Persistent breakouts, sudden texture changes, moles that evolve or anything that simply will not heal deserves expert eyes. A studio consultation maps your skin under proper light and builds a routine around what is actually there — not what the internet guessed.

Healthy skin is not a mystery; it is a conversation. Start listening, and bring us your questions.
